Dr. Dave delivers a timely and relevant message based on his newest book, Creating Your Own Economy: A Guide to Financial Freedom and Generous Living. The world's economy operates on debt, scarcity, and competition. However, God has established a higher system - one that isn't shaken by inflation, recession, or market crashes. This divine economy is governed by faith, obedience, and supernatural provision.
God’s system can be described as biblical prosperity. True prosperity isn't about accumulation - it's about distribution. As believers, we're called to be conduits of God's resources. The purpose of prosperity isn't to acquire more stuff, but to be positioned to bless others and advance God's kingdom.
To operate in God’s economy, we need to break free from limiting beliefs about money. Your personal economy is first created in your mind before it manifests in your life. As Proverbs 23:7 states, "As a person thinks, so are they." Align yourself with what the word of God says and you will see change in the way you see things. Speak God’s word over your situation to shift from scarcity thinking into an attitude of abundance.
Key purposes of biblical prosperity are:
How does God’s economy work? The world's economy says "hold on to what you have tightly," but God's economy says "give and it will be given unto you." When we're liberal in building God's kingdom, He promises to give back, pressed down, shaken together, and running over. Money itself isn't good or evil - it's simply a tool. What we do with it determines whether it becomes a force for good or evil. See yourself as a wealth distributor. He prospers you to help establish the Kingdom of God. But, you have to choose. Do you want to use your resources for your own comfort or for influence and Kingdom expansion?
Within the biblical economy model, tithing is a standard. It is a trust test of trust. Do you trust God with your finances? When He knows He can trust you, He will open the windows of heaven and blessings will flow. Tithing consistently is like putting a stick in the window so it doesn’t close!
Prosperity has gotten a bad rap when associated with Christianity. God doesn’t care if you have money. He just cares if it has you. Live open handed. The power of generosity can be discovered in 2 Corinthians 9. Those who sow sparingly will reap sparingly, while those who sow generously will reap generously. God loves a cheerful giver and promises to provide all we need with plenty left over to share with others.
This week, challenge yourself to:
Remember: True prosperity isn't about accumulation - it's about distribution. When we align our financial mindset with God's principles, we position ourselves for supernatural provision and Kingdom impact.
