In the journey of faith, there are moments that stand out as pivotal turning points - moments that are marked not just by emotion, but by eternal significance. These are the times when God calls us to step up and be part of something bigger than ourselves.
What does it mean when God says "This is your moment"? God orchestrates divine moments in our lives and in the life of a church. Just as Mordecai told Esther in Esther 4, "Who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this," God positions each of us in specific places at specific times for specific purposes.
These moments aren't just about witnessing what God is doing - they're about actively participating in His work. It's not enough to simply believe in what God is doing; we must engage in what God is doing. God has equipped you and is equipping you for this calling.
First Peter 4:10 tells us, "God has given each of you a gift from his variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another." Every single person has received a divine deposit from the King of Kings Himself. Your gift isn't random or accidental - it's purposeful. There's a Kingdom equation at work: Your gift + your yes = somebody else's breakthrough. If you don't show up and use your gift on behalf of others, someone else may stay stuck. That's how serious your assignment and purpose really are.
The Apostle Paul describes the church as a body with many parts, each serving a vital function. In 1 Corinthians 12, he explains that no part can say to another, "I don't matter" or "You don't matter." Every part is essential. In today's church, too many people are playing hide-and-seek with their purpose. There are gifted "ears" sitting in chairs while the body goes deaf and anointed "hands" hiding in the crowd while the body lies paralyzed.
The body only functions at its best when everyone is doing their part. Even the parts that seem weakest or least important are actually necessary:
Even if you feel like a "little toe" - seemingly insignificant - remember that without toes, we lose balance and fall over. Unseen doesn't mean unnecessary.
There are many ways to serve, depending on your gifts:
When you serve in any capacity, you're not just performing a task. When you're directing traffic, you're preparing hearts and when you're in kids ministry, you're planting seeds of the gospel.
When you run a camera, you're helping someone meet Jesus in their living room and when you clean the sanctuary, you're hosting the King.
God isn't looking for talent - He's looking for trust. You don't have to be perfect; you just have to be present. You don't have to be the best; you just have to be willing. The greatest ability in the Kingdom is availability. Are you sitting on the sidelines instead of stepping into your purpose? Ask God what your next step is. He is faithful and will show you!
You were created on purpose, for a purpose. Don't put your purpose on pause because of fear or comfort. The Kingdom doesn't advance through comfort - it advances through commitment.
Your gift plus your yes equals someone else's breakthrough. Someone is waiting for you to step into your moment. Will you say yes?
