We are standing at a divine moment - not just a season or transition, but a summons from God. What's happening is about a transaction between Heaven and earth. The eyes of the Lord are scanning the earth, looking for hearts He can set on fire. He’s not looking for perfect people, but surrendered ones who say, "God, use me."
Every once in a while, a moment shows up that's bigger than a Sunday service, a moment marked not by emotion, but by eternity. When these moments arrive, we need people who don't just attend the moment but recognize it, respond to it, and rise up in it. There is a new burden to touch our community like never before. It’s more than a launch pad; it’s more responsibility and it's becoming a lifeline to the city.
In Esther 4:14, Mordecai asks Esther, "Who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?" That wasn't just a word for Esther - it's a word for us as God’s church. This is our "such a time." That's why we've all been brought together by divine orchestration. As Motor City Church transitions from one building to another, God is giving us a fresh start, another shot, a Kingdom opportunity to do it better, do it right, and do it together.
I can’t help but think of the movie, “Avengers: Endgame”. In the moment when the world was in crisis and everything was on the line, all the scattered heroes came together. They didn't look the same, didn't fight the same, and some didn't even get along well. But when it mattered most, they heard the call: "Avengers assemble!" The same rally cry is over our church: "Motor City, assemble!" We have intercessors, creatives, problem solvers, system builders, and kingdom dreamers all coming together. Now is the time to unite.
With opportunity comes responsibility. This next season will require:
But, with this opportunity comes a warning. Just because God is moving doesn't mean we're following. Miracles are missed all the time - not because God didn't do them, but because people were asleep or distracted. God can open the door, but you still have to walk through it. He can send the cloud, but you still have to follow it. Don’t miss the move!
In Luke 19:44, Jesus wept over Jerusalem saying, "Because you did not recognize the time of God's coming." They had the Messiah right in front of them but they were busy, distracted, traditional, and comfortable. Heaven moved, but they missed it. Every move of God is preceded by a moment of decision where a group of people made a choice. Your heart has to move before your feet ever move.
Remember Israel? God delivered them from Egypt, but He didn't just want to take them out of Egypt. He wanted to take them into the promised land. Yet, an entire generation died in the transition. They were rescued from Egypt but weren't ready to enter God’s promise. They were free but weren't full of faith.
They were taken through the wilderness to prepare them for what was ahead in Canaan. The wilderness isn't always God's punishment; sometimes it's preparation. But if you stop moving, it becomes your prison. You can't get Canaan-level promises with Egypt-level patterns. You can't step into what's next if you're still clinging to what was.
We live in a distracted generation. The devil doesn't need to destroy you; he just needs to distract you. Distractions delay destiny, and you'll miss a move of God if your eyes are on everything else and not on Him. When was the last time you cried out until Heaven responded? When was the last time your desire for God outweighed the distractions of the world? Revival doesn't fall on casual people. It falls on desperate people who say, "God, whatever it costs, I want You."
Isaiah 43:19 says, "See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?" If you can perceive what God wants to do, you can prepare for it.
This is our moment to:
We don't need more sermons; we need more surrender and obedience. Catch the wave! Have you ever been at the beach playing in the waves? If you hesitate when the wave is coming, you'll miss it. Waves don't wait for your comfort - they move when they move. God is sending a wave of His Spirit, revival, momentum, and favor. We need to get in position and be ready, or we'll be watching the wave pass us by that God called us to be riding!
Remember, we don't want to just have a breakthrough - we want a breakout. We don't just want to crack the shell; we want to fully emerge into all God has for us. Don't miss this moment. Whatever God is doing in this season, pray that He won't do it without you.
