10 Ways To Get More

I am believing for “Far More in 24”! Ephesians 3:20 in the Message Bible says, ”God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.” Now that I’ve been thinking about the word “more” for 2024, I am finding it throughout the Bible.

Psalms 115:14 (AMPC) says ”May the Lord give you increase more and more, you and your children.“ John 10:10 reminds us that Jesus came to give us life and life more abundantly.

So, what is more? It’s more than you have right now! Where could we use more?

  1. Know More: Having more means knowing more. Whatever you do, get wisdom. If you’re not doing as well as you like, there’s something you don’t know. Learn something today that will make your tomorrow different. People are trying to get a lot of things, but wisdom is the principal thing to get. You need wisdom for every are of your life. If you think about it, the more wisdom you have, the fewer miracles you need because you will make better decisions. Proverbs 3:13-28 (AMPC) says it well; verse 13 starts the passage, “Happy (blessed, fortunate, enviable) is the man who finds skillful and godly Wisdom, and the man who gets understanding [drawing it forth from God’s Word and life’s experiences], For the gaining of it is better than the gaining of silver, and the profit of it better than fine gold. Nothing you can wish is compared to herShe is a tree of life to those who lay hold on her; and happy is everyone who holds her fast.” Ask for wisdom. Do it today and this will launch 2024 well for you.
  2. Say More: This is key to unlocking what God has for you. Joshua 1:8 instructs the believer to “This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success.” Please note with me, the Bible relates success to speaking the word. Speak God's word over your circumstances, over your life. Don’t just say whatever else there is to say. Your words have power. Don’t curse your finances and business by speaking negatively. Curse the works of the enemy. Don’t curse things that are beneficial to you. Proverbs 18:21 declares that the tongue can bring death or life. The tongue steers your life by your words.
  3. Think More: Get your thinking up to a higher level. Think more than you’ve ever thought before. Ideas are creativity from God that can make you in demand, solve valuable problems, and cause wealth to flow into your life. Ps 1:1-3 says if we habitually meditate (ponder, study) on God’s word, we will be like a tree planted near streams of water that will not wither or fade and that we will come to maturity. Thinking can produce scientific breakthroughs, medical cures, great business deals, and help for humanity. What you're thinking about on the inside will manifest on the outside. Think more!
  4. Do More: If faith does not have works, it is inoperative and is destitute of power (James 2:17-20). Put in effort. Take action. God does His part and you need to do your part. Be a doer of the word. Sometimes people are their own greatest problem. If you have thought up a great idea, and have faith that it will work, but never take action - nothing will happen.
  5. Believe More: To move toward an unseen goal requires faith. You gotta believe! You have to move forward without visible guarantees. Step out of the boat. Look past the obstacles others see and look beyond to the solution, to the answers, to the end result. Build your faith. “For we live by believing and not by seeing” (2 Corinthians 5:7 NLT).
  6. Expect More: You get what you expect. Expect more. We will be doing communion through January at Motor City Church. My friend calls Communion, “the meal that heals”. Jesus paid the price for your healing through giving his life. Expect healing when you take Communion. Expect God’s favor in your life. Watch for favor in situations and circumstances. One moment of God's favor can change your life. Start each day spending time with God and knowing He is for you.
  7. Give More: Follow principles of finances from the Bible. Tithe and be generous. In the world, 5+2=7. But when Jesus blessed 5 barley loaves and 2 fish, thousands were fed until they were full and there were 12 basketfuls left over. Put things in the hands of God and He will multiply it beyond anything you can ask or imagine. “Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back” (Luke 6:38 NLT).
  8. Pray More: During January we partner with the Church of the Highlands for prayer days. Watch with us online daily at 7 AM (EST) at www.motorcitychurch.org. We encourage fasting during these days. As you fast, use the time you are not eating, watching your favorite show, or scrolling TikTok to spend time in prayer and reading the Bible.
  9. Read More: Reading expands your knowledge base. Read the Bible more. Be curious and read about those things you find interesting. Ask your mentor or boss what they recommend to read. Ask people you admire what they read. Make a list and start today.

Jesus More: Jesus was radical and world changing and He can change your life. He is the Word of God incarnate and has the power to transform you. He is for you. You can come to Jesus and He won’t condemn you. Take the journey with Jesus and you will see Him in your life more than ever before. Romans 10:9 promises, “If you say with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved from the punishment of sin.” Let me know if you said “Yes” to Jesus today.
